Basic Cruising Sailing Instructor  

We are looking for a basic sailing instructor for the 2022 season who will offer lessons from Pointe-Claire, on Lake St-Louis, one day a week to be determined, a few weekends as well as a 2-week segment.

We offer training on Lake St-Louis in Montreal, departing from Pointe-Claire , and in the South (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Saint-Vincent and the Grenadines…), organize cruises in Europe (Corsica, Greece , Croatia, Italy, etc.) and offers delivery services anywhere on the planet.  

Our mission is to communicate our passion for sailing to crew members and to transfer our knowledge and know-how to our students. We support them in their learning projects and make their dreams come true.

TASK DESCRIPTION  

➢ Teach basic cruising sailing to a group of 4 on a 28 footer (GibSea);

➢ Assist in the preparation of Quiz and Topos;

➢ Carry out regular maintenance of the sailboat;

➢ Assist in launching the boat in May and winterizing at the end of the season.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS  

➢ Sailing-cruising instructor certificate from the FVQ / Sail Canada;

➢ Restricted Marine Operator's Certificate;

➢ Pleasure Craft Operator Card;  

➢ First aid certificate in first aid.

REQUIRED PROFILE  

➢ Be an excellent teacher;

➢ Demonstrate autonomy;

➢ Have a developed sense of customer service;

➢ Be punctual;  

➢ Bilingualism an asset.  

WORKING CONDITIONS  

➢ Part-time position from the beginning of June to the end of September 2022;

➢ Hourly rate between $25 to $30 / hour depending on experience and qualifications;

➢ The successful candidate could take part in certain training courses or cruises in the South or in Europe.
